Android New Releases

Android 5.0 Lollipop

  • The next sweet-named Android OS is upon us: Lollipop. Lollipop is all about fluidity, shareability, and flexibility, as it is easy to switch from device to device using the same interface. Perks of Lollipop include a new battery saver feature that extends device life by 90 minutes, multiple user accounts for privacy, and security options such as a PIN, password, pattern, or a paired device.
  • Android 5.0 Lollipop will be released with Nexus 6, Nexus 9, and Nexus Player. 5.0 will soon be available for Nexus predecessors and Google Play edition devices.

Nexus 6, Nexus 9, and Nexus Player

  • The Nexus 6 phone will feature a 6-inch Quad HD display, a 13-megapixel camera, dual front-facing stereo speakers, and a Turbo Charger which will allow for up to six hours of use with only 15 minutes of charging time. The Nexus 6 can be pre-ordered starting October 17th in anticipation for the November release (dates specific to carriers.)
  • The Nexus 9 tablet, made by HTC, features a convenient and practical 8.9-inch screen. The tablet also has a magnetically attaching keyboard which folds both ways. The Nexus 9 will be available for pre-order October 17th and will release November 3rd.
  • Nexus Player is a streaming media player for movies, music, and videos. Nexus Player allows one to start games on an HDTV, and continue on one’s phone. Nexus Player also has Google Cast to retrieve media from a Chromebook, Android, or iOS Phone or tablet to play on one’s TV. The Nexus Player will also be available for pre-order on October 17th.
