Developing a Web Presence for Energy Distributors

the challenge

Italian natural gas giant Enel Rete Gas approached iperdesign with a few needs in the midst of a transition period.

First, its existing brand would need to be translated to the digital world. Next, this new digital presence would need to be recognizable, user-friendly, and easily accessible for its customer base of more than 3.5 million users who subscribe to their natural gas distribution services.

the solution

We partnered up with Enel Rete Gas's technology department Software Design to design and develop a website that features a polished user interface built with the WordPress CMS. The new website (viewable here) incorporates the independent brand standards of Enel Rete Gas and puts the company's name at the forefront during this transition period.

Our main objective was to make sure the customer base is able to have a simple, streamlined experience when visiting Enel Rete Gas online, which we achieved by creating a slick user experience that puts the needs of the customer first.

The new WordPress-based CMS for Enel Rete Gas features a helpful customer portal that is accessible for 3.5 million subscribers across more than 2,000 townships in Italy.

The customer portal features several useful tools that promote business-to-consumer interaction. Customers can easily request quotes, review pricing and regulations, and report problems with their service.

Visitors can also access a News section with frequently updated content, handled internally by Enel Rete Gas.
