Whether you’re a lifelong patron of the arts, new to Philadelphia (like myself), or just looking for a way to get outside with easy accessibility to air conditioning, the First Friday gallery hop, hosted by the Old City Arts Association on the first Friday of every month, is the cherry on top of this four day work week.
This Friday, over 30 of Old City’s charming galleries, boutiques and eateries will open their doors from 5-9 pm to show the public some of the great things happening in Philadelphia’s art scene. Visitors can take in many different types of art, from sculpture installations at Bird Park, to beautiful ceramics at The Clay Studio. The ultra-relaxed vibe (and free admission!) during First Friday makes it a great way to kick off the summer months and become more acquainted with the historic neighborhood, unique artists and local brews. I hope to see everyone at First Friday on June 1 in Old City. This truly is a unique Philadelphia experience not to be missed!
