luxury brands going too far

Bottega Veneta and Prada are now offering customization on some of their products with the customer’s initials. Is it wrong that I think that this is not only extremely garish, but the look of these emblazoned leather pieces is hideous?

Isn’t the appeal of owning a Bottega Veneta bag partly due to the no-logo design? Doesn’t that little upside down triangle logo bring enough happiness to a woman who owns a pair of prada sunglasses?

Where have the days of simply admiring the timeless grace of the artisanal intricate leather weave gone? Why does everything beautiful have to turn into schlock in order to appease the masses?
