In a long list of people you’d want to sit down and have a coffee with, Mel Gross (they/she) ranks at the top. They are a walking example of best friend material—not only do they lift other people up, they embody talent, kindness, a hunger for knowledge, and a genuine passion for leaving the world a better place than how they found it. Plus, they’re just really interesting to talk to and hang out with. Oh, one more thing—they’re also our Iperdesign front-end developer and designer. Here’s what else we learned about Mel:
What’s your favorite drink order?
If we’re in a coffee shop, I’d probably order a black coffee either cold or hot. But if we’re in a bar? Gin and tonic or an IPA.
What is your role at Iperdesign?
I am a freelance designer and front-end developer at Iperdesign. I frequently bounce between both the design and development teams, helping them and bridging the gap between the two departments.
What are some of your current goals?
I am still early in my career, so my biggest goal has been to figure out my interests and professional niche. I’ve been learning a lot about design systems, illustrated web designs, and project management recently, which are all areas I am interested in.
What is one writing or designing pet peeve of yours?
I don’t think I have a lot of pet peeves, but… I do love a good grid system, and I hate bad visual contrast!
When you show people around Philadelphia, where do you take them first?
South Street is my favorite spot in Philadelphia. Here’s my favorite route: I start with a donut from Dottie’s Donuts, then I swing over for some thrifting at Philly AIDS Thrift and Retrospect. From there, I grab the latest comics and albums at Atomic Comics and Repo Records and finish the day eating, drinking, and playing at Tattooed Mom.
If you weren’t at work today, what would you be doing?
I’d probably be at the beach, reading and swimming, or playing video games with my partner and adorable black cat.
Do you have any music or podcast recommendations?
I’ve been listening to a lot of pop music recently, but my favorite musical genres are hyperpop and old-school Brazilian pop music (MPB). I would recommend giving both a try.
Any hidden skills or talents?
I love arts and crafts! I’ve been getting super fast at crocheting recently.
Who is someone you admire and why?
This is a hard question to answer because I admire so many people. I admire all the generations that came before me for all the knowledge they’ve shared and the progress they’ve made. I admire all the women, people of color, and queers who fought before me. I admire all the references of strong, compassionate, and capable humans I had as a child. I admire my generation for breaking so many toxic cycles in our society. I admire all the younger generations that are working hard to change this world into a wholesome and safe place for everyone to bloom. I admire my teachers, coworkers, family, and friends who support me, my ideas, and who I am through actions of love.
If you were to write an autobiography, what would the title be?
I’ve been thinking about the word “Foreigner” a lot recently. I think it would be a fitting title given my multiple nationalities and ongoing struggle of being a forever-foreigner.
What’s your favorite quote?
“Good news, bad news, who can say?” I’ve been really inspired by this quote from a Chinese parable. The protagonist of the story was wise to live in the present moment and in harmony with life, instead of trying to control and fight it.
What’s your 2023 resolution?
This year I want to finally get my driver’s license! I’ve been putting it off for years but no more!

]]>2022 was a banner year for Iperdesign. To say we had our heads down putting out our best work for our clients with barely a break in sight for the entire year, would be an understatement. To see that work rewarded with a variety of awards and customer testimonials makes it all absolutely worth it. Here are just some of the highlights of our 2022:
Clutch Award-Winning Agency
Clutch is a business ratings and reviews site that allows companies to research leading marketing, branding, and IT service providers, among other businesses. They are one of the premier sites for agencies interested in managing their reputation online and acquiring new business because clients are able to provide verified reviews, ratings, and more that increase the credibility (or hurt the credibility) of the business. That’s a verbose way of saying—if you’re a business on Clutch and you’re getting great reviews, potential customers and agency partners are going to see it.
So you can imagine just how thrilled we were to receive not one, not two, but seven awards from Clutch. These awards include Top Branding Company in Pennsylvania and Top Branding, Design, Digital Marketing, E-Commerce Developers, and Full Service Digital Company in Philadelphia—six particularly prestigious awards we’re proud of, especially given the competition with other talented agencies in our City of Brotherly Love.
That’s not all.
We love winning awards, don’t get us wrong, but knowing we’re doing right by our clients is the real win. That’s why we’re thrilled to present that our average Clutch review rating in 2022 was 5—the highest review score possible.
Here’s just one of the many reviews we received that earned us this prestigious score:
Ad World Masters Award-Winning Gold Agency
“Agency of the Year” has a nice ring to it, particularly when it comes to the digital agency competition hosted by Ad World Masters. With over 160 data points compiled for each agency, plus a manual review by the Ad World Masters team, it stands to reason that Ad World Masters does its due diligence when ranking agencies.
Out of 12,322 agencies around the world, Iperdesign is part of the less than 10% of Ad World Masters agencies that received the title of Gold Agency of the Year—the highest honor a business can get, requiring a score of 9.2 out of 10 or higher to achieve. In the United States, we are one of only 38 agencies across the country to receive the Gold Agency of the Year award. Here’s what Ad World Masters says about their rankings:
“These agencies represent the very best in the industry and are a testament to the creativity, innovation, and excellence that define the advertising field.”
We’re honored to be a part of this elite group of agencies both in the United States and around the world.
Looking ahead to 2023
For all of us here at Iperdesign, 2023 represents new opportunities to tackle unique projects for our clients, helping them to create stronger, better businesses through digital marketing, digital branding, web design & development, and more. We look forward to continuing to earn those 5-star ratings and those top agency awards this year.

]]>What happens when you combine dry wit, incredible talent, and a kind personality? You get Dan, our newest member of the Iperdesign team. Dan has only been on the team for a short time, and he’s already making developer magic happen for our clients. Most impressively, he’s doing it while powered only on black coffee (usually). We sat down with Dan to learn more about him over a cup (though ours had cream and just a little sugar). Here’s what we found out:
What’s your favorite drink order?
When I can, I’ll get a nice café au lait. Typically, a black coffee gets me through the day.
What is your role at Iperdesign?
I am the front-end developer.
What are some of your current goals?
I’d like to learn and grow as a developer and eventually run my own team of developers someday.
What is one writing or designing pet peeve of yours?
When people use paddings and margins for alignment when they should be using flex.
When you show people around Philadelphia, where do you take them first?
It depends on the person, but I always try to stop by one of my old haunts, El Bar.
If you weren’t at work today, what would you be doing?
I would probably be going for a bike ride or watching a movie with my wife and our two cats.
Do you have any music or podcast recommendations?
I’ve been listening to the Stormlight Archives, an epic fantasy series, on audiobook and that consumes basically all of my audio bandwidth.
Any hidden skills or talents?
I’m reasonably good at chess.
Who is someone you admire and why?
I admire my wife Hannah because she just gets stronger and more impressive every day.
If you were to write an autobiography what would the title be?

]]>Have you ever sat down with someone and just know you’re not the smartest person at the table? Welcome to our tea with Ana, our newest hire and inspiration at Iperdesign. Her incredible talent, breadth of knowledge, and ability to speak multiple—yes, multiple—languages are just the tip of the iceberg. We sat down with Ana for a chat over a cup of tea to find out more about her and to introduce her as the newest member of our team.
What’s your favorite drink order?
It depends. I love a decaf coconut milk latte, but I also enjoy ginger turmeric tea.
What is your role at Iperdesign?
Designer
What are some of your current goals?
On a work level, my goal is to make Iperdesign clients more successful and achieve their goals as a company. I love seeing the potential that a company has and then bringing out the rockstar that is hiding beneath. It’s what gets me fired up about my job.
On a personal level, I am working on a few illustration projects that I plan to have done by the beginning of next year.
What is one writing or designing pet peeve of yours?
My biggest pet peeve is when the client is rushing me to finish a project, and I do but then they don’t get back to me for a long time. It happens way too often, unfortunately.
When you show people around Philadelphia, where do you take them first?
My favorite restaurants are Honey’s for breakfast, Sky Cafe for lunch, and Murph’s for dinner.
If you weren’t at work today, what would you be doing?
I’d be working on my illustrations. I also like to go to a coffee shop next to my house and read for a little bit, so I might do that as well.
Do you have any music or podcast recommendations?
My podcast recommendation is “Our Thing” with Sammy The Bull. I was obsessed with this podcast last winter. Sammy The Bull was Cosa Nostra’s hitman.
Any hidden skills or talents?
I speak four languages fluently, and I’m on my way to learn Spanish as well. I also did ballet for ten years and sang in a Slavic choir for five years. I also design and make clothes. In fact, when it’s really cold in Philly, I like to spend a few hours in my sewing studio.
Who is someone you admire and why?
I admire Al Jourgensen from Ministry. This guy pretty much invented Industrial music. That sort of thing draws my attention and curiosity. I admire any artist that does something revolutionary.
